Graptopetalum is a small genus, it contains only about 18 species. Its area of distribution reaches from the southern USA (Arizona) to Mexico.
The most popular member of the genus as a pot plant is probably the Chihuahua Flower (Graptopetalum bellum). It grows rosette-shaped and can show its pink flowers from spring through summer.
Hybrids of Echeveria and Graptopelaum species are called × Graptoveria. The parent species of × Graptoveria ‘Silver Star’ seen below are Echeveria agavoides and Graptopetalum filiferum.
Another hybrid genus is × Graptosedum, which is the name given to crosses of Graptopetalum and Sedum species.
