Bell pepper “Candy Cane”

“Candy Cane” is a variegated variety of sweet bell pepper. The green not yet ripe fruits are striped. However, they lose this pattern as they ripen and are then colored either red or orange.

Family: Nightshades (Solanaceae)
Origin: The wild type (Capsicum annuum) originates from Central America, North America, South America (distribution map).
Size: 80 to 120 mm
Edible: “Candy Cane” peppers can be used like other bell peppers. They are not hot.
Season: Summer to early fall
Store: Bell peppers stay fresh in the refrigerator for a few days or can be frozen.
