Sowing instructions
Growing Ceiba speciosa from seed is not difficult. At 77 to 84 °F (25 to 29 °C), they can germinate after just a few days. Or they can take several weeks.
The seeds should be soaked for about 24 hours before sowing.

I used a mix of peat-free herbal soil and bird sand as a substrate. The seeds can just be placed on the soil and pressed down or lightly covered with it. To prevent them from drying out, the seed pot should be covered. This is why I usually use glass jars for growing.
A warm location is important for germination. Temperatures of 77 to 86 °F (25 to 30 °C) are best.
The growing location should be bright to partly sunny. As I sowed the seeds in January, I placed the glass under a 15 watt LED bulb.
