The Japanese snowball (Viburnum plicatum) is not only native to Japan. It is also found in China, Korea and Taiwan. It blooms in May and June.
Depending on the variety and location, this shrub can grow up to 3 meters high. Here in Germany it is popular as a park plant.
There are several cultivars of the Japanese snowball available. That is why I am sure that the pictures do not show the wild type. The habit suggests that it might be Viburnum plicatum “Cascade”.
