Aloe juvenna is native to Kenya, its shoots can grow up to 40 centimeters long. They grow still upright when the plant is young and lying down with age. It is called Tiger Tooth Aloe.
Lighting & Temperature
Full to partial sun locations are ideal. It is good if Aloe juvenna receives sunlight for at least three hours a day. It can tolerate the hot summer sun.
It can spend the summer in the garden or on the balcony.
If the Tiger Tooth Aloe shall bloom, a temperate winter location at about 15 °C is helpful. However, it can also be grown year-round at room temperature.
Soil
Since almost all of my aloes spend the summer in the garden, I use well-drained mixtures of peat-free vegetable soil and pumice gravel. They survive even rainy periods in this.
For indoor cultivation, standard cactus mixes or a mix of potting soil and bird sand is also suitable.
Watering & Feeding
Aloe juvenna is adapted to survive in dry regions. Therefore, the soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings, or at least dry out well.
In winter, it should be watered infrequently so that it stops growing and does not develop thin light-deficient shoots.
From spring to autumn Tiger Tooth Aloe can occasionally receive liquid fertilizer for cacti, green plants or vegetables.
