Stetsonia coryne is a tree-like growing cactus native to South America. In its natural habitat, it can grow up to eight meters high. Young specimens grow columnar. The central spines of adult plants can be up to eight centimetres long.

The cactus shown here is eleven centimetres high, the upper central spines are just under five centimetres long.
