The wild radish or white charlock (Raphanus raphanistrum) is edible, but does not form a turnip-shaped root. The leaves, seed pods and seedlings taste pungent due to the mustard oils they contain.

Sowing instructions
Sowing and growing the wild radish is similar to that of the garden radish. In Central Europe, it can be pre-grown in pots from April or sown directly into the bed in May.
The seeds require no pre-treatment and germinate after two days at around 20 °C. The sowing depth is about one centimeter.
As substrate I have used peat-free mix for herbs and vegetables. It must be kept moist but not wet.
The location for growing and rearing should be bright and sunny.
