Jerusalem sage
Phlomis fruticosa is an evergreen shrub that can grow up to two meters tall and spread over a meter in width. Depending on the region, it blooms from April to July.
Its native range is the eastern Mediterranean region. With a frost tolerance of up to 19 °F/-7°C, it is only partially hardy. When planted in the garden, the shoots may freeze in severe frost. However, if the winter was not too cold, it will sprout again in the spring.
In harsh climates, it is therefore better to grow Phlomis fruticosa in a container and overwinter it in a frost-free location.
