Habitus & biology

Ranunculus repens spreads by flat-growing runners that root at the leaf nodes and can reach a length of up to 50 centimeters. The flowering shoots reach a height of up to 30 centimeters. All parts of the perennial plant are poisonous.

Distribution & habitates

The native distribution area includes Europe, northern Asia and western North Africa. As an introduced species, Ranunculus repens is also said to be found in Australia, North America and South America (source).
