Habitus & biology
The rosette-shaped leaves of Plantago lanceolata can grow up to 30 centimetres long. When in flower, the perennial plant can be over 50 centimetres tall.
Depending on the habitat, the leaves lie flat on the ground or grow upright. In mild regions, they can also be seen in winter.
Distribution & habitates
The original distribution area includes Asia, Europe and North Africa. As an introduced species, Plantago lanceolata is also said to be found in North America, South America and other regions (source).

Plantago lanceolata grows in fields, meadows, lawns, ditches, walls, roadsides and paths.
