Korean lilac (Syringa pubescens) is not quite as popular as its much larger relative, the common lilac (Syringa vulgaris). But its flowers are also intensely fragrant. They appear in April and May.
Syringa pubescens grows only about four feet tall and makes a good hedge.
Lilacs, like privets (Ligustrum), are members of the Oleaceae family. They are slightly poisonous.
