Blue Star juniper, flaky juniper, Himalayan juniper, Nepalese juniper
The Blue Star juniper (Juniperus squamata “Blue Star”) is a cultivar of the flaky juniper (Juniperus squamata) and differs from the wild type in its flat growth. It only reaches a height of one meter but is over one meter wide.
The needles are green-turquoise to bluish in color. According to my observations, however, they are far less blue than can be seen in many pictures circulating on the internet. Especially pictures from retailers.

Origin: Juniperus squamata is native to western and eastern Asia and is said to grow as a naturalized species in Sweden (distribution map)
