Hosta plantaginea differs from other Hosta species not only in its size. It also tolerates sunny locations if the soil is evenly moist.
Depending on the variety and location, it can grow up to 80 centimetres tall and flower from July to September in Central Europe. Unfortunately, it is often eaten by snails. The wild type is native to China.
