Bee-eating beetle on umbellifers
The bee-eating beetle (Trichodes apiarius) loves umbellifers (Apiaceae). And wild bees. Solitary species in particular serve as food for its larvae. The adult beetles also eat insects, but feed on pollen as well. They are often found in the inflorescences of species from the Apiaceae family. This family includes such popular crops as carrots and parsnips.
